Food Therapy

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) has long recognized the importance of food therapy in the treatment and prevention of illness in your pet.

Dr. Gleason has completed significant training in TCVM and can assist in creating a nutrition plan and supplement plan that can help your pet based on your pet’s background and needs. The nutrition plan may recommend the implementation of special food or the elimination of certain food based on the Traditional Chinese Food Energetics classification and TCVM diagnosis.

Nutraceuticals

Nutraceuticals have a beneficial impact on the health of your pet. Proper use of nutraceuticals in your pet can benefit their immune system, bone health, reduce pain and inflammation, as well as promote the overall well being of your pet.

The term ‘nutraceutical’ was coined to categorize items found in food that are not technically considered nutrients. Common terms for these items are dietary supplements such as vitamins and minerals or enzymes and probiotics.

While quality nutraceuticals and herbal therapy can help your pet, we recommend using caution when buying supplements without knowledge of the manufacturer, as supplements are not highly regulated and some supplements may not contain the labeled amount of ingredients.

Chi Dog

ChiDog is a different kind of fresh dog food. Not only is it prepared with fresh human grade meats, fresh veggies, and whole grains, but it’s made to nourish each dog’s personal Element. Based on Eastern Medicine philosophies, ChiDog’s founders are practicing veterinarians who have seen the positive benefits that personalized Food Therapy can have on our cherished four-legged family members.

Dr. Gleason is trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and can help identify the proper meals to improve your pet’s health.
