Hello, I am Dr. Dawn Gleason.
I am a graduate of Colorado State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM). I spent several years practicing general veterinary medicine in multiple practices in Nevada, Maryland, and North Carolina. I received a certification in rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee and became a Canine Certified Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) and in 2015 I became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA).
I have spent the last 5 years specifically working in the field of animal rehabilitation and believe we can improve our pet’s lives through improving their mobility and strength, decreasing their pain and promoting overall improved health and fitness for our pets.
I practice veterinary medicine with an integrative approach combining western medicine with acupuncture, rehabilitative knowledge, lifestyle advice, Chinese herbal medicine, laser therapy, massage, and hospice care when appropriate.
I love working with dogs and cats in all age ranges, but have a special place for senior pets as I strongly believe that through some simple additions to their care we can greatly improve their quality of life. I believe that each of our Pets is a family member and enjoy getting to know them through traveling to their homes for treatment. Many cats and dogs become quite scared and anxious when entering a veterinary hospital, but with mobile care I can treat them in the comfort and safety of their own homes. Pets prefer to be where they are most relaxed, especially the familiarity of their own home. Your pet will receive the highest level of care without the stress of traveling to the vet. You can easily avoid waiting rooms by having friendly personalized care at your house.
Finally, I appreciate that I am able to provide at home euthanasia’s when it is time to say goodbye to your treasured family member. Their last moments should be at home with you and in the comfort of your own home instead of in a veterinary hospital where they are scared and fearful.
I enjoy skiing, hiking and hanging out with my two and four-legged kids! And look forward to working with you and your pet to provide loving care with an integrative twist.
